As of January 1, 2003, ISI Essential Science Indicators data were updated to cover an 11-year, from January 1992 to December 31, 2002. With this update, the data pool expanded to include an additional 2,325 scientists; 227 institutions; 18 countries; and 37 journals that are either entirely new to the ISI Essential Science Indicators Web product, or new to one of the database’s 22 fields.
