As of July 1, 2003, ISI
Essential Science Indicators
data were updated to cover a 10-year plus 4-month period, from January
1993 to April 30, 2003. With this update, the data pool expanded to
include an additional 2,026 scientists; 211 institutions; 18 countries;
and 36 journals that are either entirely new to the ISI Essential
Science Indicators Web product, or new to one of the database’s 22
fields.
The scientists achieving entrance into the database with the highest
total citations in each of the 22 fields are listed below:
