As of November 1, 2003, ISI Essential Science Indicators data were updated to cover a 10-year plus 8-month period, from January 1993 to August 31, 2003. With this update, the data pool expanded to include an additional 1,742 scientists, 207 institutions, 16 countries, and 36 journals that are either entirely new to the ISI Essential Science Indicators Web product, or new to one of the database’s 22 fields.
