As of January 1, 2003, ISI Essential Science Indicators data were updated to cover a 10-year plus 2-month period, from January 1993 to February 28, 2003. With this update, the data pool expanded to include an additional 6,724 scientists; 177 institutions; 44 countries; and 79 journals that are either entirely new to the ISI Essential Science Indicators Web product, or new to one of the database’s 22 fields.
