As of January 1, 2003, ISI
Essential Science Indicators
data were updated to cover a 10-year plus 2-month period, from January
1993 to February 28, 2003. With this update, the data pool expanded to
include an additional 6,724 scientists; 177 institutions; 44 countries;
and 79 journals that are either entirely new to the ISI Essential Science
Indicators Web product, or new to one of the database’s 22 fields.
Of the 6,724 scientists classified as new to ISI Essential Science
Indicators in some way, the 22 with the highest total citations in
each respective field are listed below:
