As of September 1, 2003, ISI Essential Science Indicators data were updated to cover a 10-year plus 6-month period, from January 1993 to June 30, 2003. With this update, the data pool expanded to include an additional 1,723 scientists, 201 institutions, 9 countries, and 38 journals that are either entirely new to the ISI Essential Science Indicators Web product, or new to one of the database’s 22 fields.
